2010 Vortex F1

The Vortex F1 joins the latest group of stripped-down track day supercars such as the Ariel Atom, Hulme F1 and Caparo T1. They describe the car as a “concept show car that can be registered and driven as a street-legal vehicle.” With an all-new design, Vortex Motors also hopes to break acceleration records with their first model simply known as the F1.

Vortex Motors told us that the new F1 was designed to be completely functional including all the vents on the car. The shape was the work of Troy Trinh who did the interior for the famous Mazda Taiki Concept and its Nagare design philosophy. Like the Mazda, the Vortex F1 is completely sculpted with many complex curves only possible with computer aided design.

The show car is made of fiberglass but Vortex can prepare an Ultimate version in carbon fiber. It is powered by a 2.0-liter Ecotec engine which is turbocharged to 290 bhp. This makes the 1,400 pound F1 capable of 0-60 in 2.7 seconds. Vortex says that they made to design to accept a variety of engines including the Suzuki Hayabusa.

Vortex are preparing to sell a version of their showcar for $49,995 USD. As an optional upgrade they will offer an $69,995 Ultimate version which increases power to 330 bhp and also uses a carbon fiber body.
