A Speedy SUV
The Audi RS Q8 is the fastest version of the Q8. It’s also the fastest dang SUV around the Nordschleife now. The SUV took the Green Hell recently and left victoriously. The SUV managed to set a lap time of 7 min 42.253 seconds. That is quick for any vehicle and seven seconds faster than the previous record holder.
The previous record-holder was the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63S. That vehicle was piloted by Audi test driver Frank Stippler. He tackles the twists, curves, and elevation changes with what looks like ease. The Audi RS Q8 appears to handle the track very well.
Speaking of the vehicle, the RS Q8 is no regular SUV. The model gets a high-performance 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine. That engine is no joke. It punches out 592 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. That’s quite a lot of power in any vehicle.
The SUV lap time is still pretty far behind the fastest cars around the track. With that said, we can hardly believe this big of an SUV can get around the track so quickly. You can watch a video of the RS Q8 doing its thing at Nurburgring below. It’s worth watching as Stippler does his thing.
