Sebring International Raceway has announced that Vintage Speed LLC will serve as the event manager for the Sebring Historics scheduled for October 25–28, 2012. In conjunction with the 60th anniversary celebration of the Sebring 12-hour classic, the track is creating an annual event to honor the historic cars that have competed on the legendary circuit. Participation is open to all vintage and historic cars meeting the usual eligibility criteria for these types of events.
Sebring International Raceway President, Tres Stephenson stated: “We are very pleased to bring on board a well recognized team that specializes in vintage and historic racing events. We have worked with Vintage Speed in previous events and were very pleased with their professionalism and the reputation they hold for running well-managed races. I think our racers are going to be very pleased to work with Dan Schmutte, Carl Jensen, Jack Woerhle and the Vintage Speed team.”
Dan Schmutte, president of Vintage Speed commented: “We have a well established group of racing professionals who are recognized throughout the vintage community for their courtesy, knowledge and customer focus. I know our friends in racing are always pleased to see familiar faces at the track and rely upon us to ensure events are well planned and flawlessly executed. Many of us are racers ourselves, so we connect well with our customers. We are looking forward to kicking off the Sebring Historics and helping to build it into one of the major vintage racing events in the U.S.”
Ticket information and details on how to register a car for the inaugural Sebring Historics will be posted on sebringraceway.com in the near future.
