2012 Camaro ZL1 laps Nürburgring in 7:41:27
GM’s North American president, Mark Reuss, has confirmed a Nürburgring-Nordschleife lap time of 7 minutes and 41.27 seconds for the 2012 Camaro ZL1.
That time on the full-length, 20.832 km (12.944 miles), of the Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit beats out such track performers as the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and the BMW M3 GTS – putting the ZL1 in solid supercar territory. (Most lap times are measured on the 20.6 km stretch of the track, stopping 200 meters short of the end.)
The test, though, was conducted by GM and not independently. The time was set by GM’s own test driver Aaron Link.
