This year’s edition of the Harry Miller Club’s popular Millers at Milwaukee meet will honor the 100th anniversary of the International Vanderbilt Cup and Grand Prize races held a century ago on a 7.88-mile road course in the northwest Milwaukee suburb of Wauwatosa and won by Ralph DePalma in a Mercedes.
Scheduled for July 8–9, the 18th annual weekend at the Wisconsin State Fair Park oval in suburban West Allis will feature the meeting’s traditional vintage Indycar program along with appearances by special invitational entries of Vanderbilt era cars of the same types that contested the original races. The history of the 1912 races will be presented through the use of two large dioramas, one depicting the Start/Finish line complete with pits and grandstands, box seats and the officials’ stand, while the other will recreate the circuit’s most difficult turn, its opening hairpin.
