Founded in Los Angeles in 2009 by Rob Dickinson, a former musician and 911 enthusiast, Singer set out to create the ultimate air-cooled Porsche 911, blending features from various air-cooled generations.
Starting with a base 964, customers can choose between coupe or Targa, rear- or all-wheel drive, and several engine sizes, with extensive customization options. Each build is entirely unique, catered to individual specifications down to bare metal with carbon-fiber panels, just like the car you see here which is currently listed for sale on RM Sotheby’s.
Dubbed “UK 1,” this was the first right-hand-drive Singer-built 911 made for the UK, powered by a Cosworth-built 3.8-liter flat-six engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. It features Egg Yolk yellow paint over a black leather interior with comfort seats, rear seating, a roll bar, and a Becker stereo with navigation.
Most notably, the car was driven by Marino Franchetti and Chris Harris at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed, it was also featured in Evo magazine, where reviewer Dickie Meaden praised it as a car he’d drive for life. Having covered under 4,650 miles, “UK 1” has been well maintained, with recent servicing by Heritage Auto Works in Berkshire in 2023 and 2024.
