Launched over a decade ago, the Lexus LFA stands as a monumental technological achievement and potentially the most exceptional vehicle ever to bear the Lexus emblem. In pursuit of creating a car that could contend with the best from Europe, Lexus collaborated with Kengo Matsumoto for the stunning design and enlisted Yamaha’s assistance for a racing-inspired powerplant, resulting in the LFA exceeding expectations.
Beyond its captivating aesthetics, the LFA holds the distinction of being Lexus’s most capable car by a significant margin. Its naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V-10 engine produces 552 hp and 354 ft-lbs of torque, channeled to the rear wheels through a six-speed single-clutch automated manual transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential.
Only 500 LFAs were produced from 2010-2012 and now two of them are currently up for grabs on Bring A Trailer with one of them already exceeding the $1 million mark.
The first example offered here is one of 64 LFAs specified with the Nürburgring package and one of 25 built to US-market specifications, making it incredibly rare. Finished in orange over black Alcantara upholstery, this model features a $70,000 Nürburgring package, incorporating a carbon-fiber front spoiler, front canards, fixed rear wing, revised suspension, lightweight alloy wheels, and a 10-horsepower boost over the standard LFA. Additional features include headlight washers, 20″ BBS wheels, carbon-ceramic brake rotors with Brembo calipers, heated and power-adjustable seats, a Lexus Insider infotainment system with voice command and navigation, and a Mark Levinson audio system. The car is offered with just 2,100 miles on the odometer.
The second LFA on offer is the 398th of the 500 produced, presenting itself in excellent condition with only 1,500 miles recorded. Finished in Starlight Black with Camel Yellow leather, it features bi-xenon headlights, carbon-ceramic brake rotors with Brembo calipers, 20″ BBS alloy wheels, heated power-adjustable seats, a back-up camera, a Mark Levinson audio system, and a Lexus Insider infotainment system with voice command and navigation.
Whether you prefer the black of the more exclusive orange LFA, both these cars are currently for bidding on Bring A Trailer with more than a week to go.
