During a series of quarter-mile drag races, CarWow put a Ferrari 488 Pista, McLaren 720S, and an Lamborghini Aventador SV against each other to see which would come out on top. On paper, these three cars should be it evenly matched as they share a lot of similarities when it comes to price, mid-engine layout, and horsepower.
Powerwise, the Lamborghini Aventador SV has the advantage when it comes to power output. It’s naturally-aspirated 6.5L V12 makes 750hp and 690Nm of torque. However, it tips the scales at 1,570kg which could put it in a disadvantage. The McLaren 720S, as its name suggests, has a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 that also develops 720 hp and 770Nm while weighing 1,420kg. The Ferrari 488 Pista comes with a 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 that produces a 720hp and 770Nm of torque while weighing only 1,390kg, making it the lightest of the three.
