Many people in the community have tried to mark the revival of the custom coachbuilt Ferrari, but what they don’t realize is that it never faded away. Just look at the FX, or any of the wild one-ofs made by Chinetti.
Instead, the internet craze makes these unique Ferraris more apparent, relevant and exciting. As and example, look at the proposed 2008 Vandenbrink 599 GTO – it’s one of the best we’ve seen.
Over the past few years, Michiel van den Brink has been building his reputation around impressive Ferrari designs and a mastery of Photoshop. The most recent of these depict a pair of highly modified images that are the 599 GTO. They were so well received on Ferrarichat.com that the project has now become reality and three cars are being made.
If all goes as planned, we hope to be at the launch of the Vandenbrink GTO.
To celebrate the occasion we also review the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, one of the most sought after and most expensive cars of our time.
