Bentley’s iconic Continental GT gets a significant makeover for its fourth generation, most notably with the introduction of a powerful new hybrid powertrain. The Speed version features a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and an electric motor, replacing the old 6.0L W12 engine.
While the old W12 had 660 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque, the new hybrid powertrain delivers 782 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque. The top speed remains the same at 208 mph, but the new hybrid is quicker, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 3.3 seconds compared to the old model’s 3.6 seconds.
The exterior design retains the classic Bentley silhouette while incorporating modern touches. The most striking update is the new headlight design, inspired by the Bentayga and Flying Spur models. The new Bentley Continental also uses a projector for its puddle lighting, delivering high-definition, full-color, and even animated projections.
Inside, the general architecture is similar to the previous generation, but there are some key updates, such as a new e-boost button and an updated infotainment system with more responsive controls and new graphics. The digital driver’s display also features new graphics, and there are new trims available, including 3D-textured leather on the doors.
