The new 2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage

Aston Martin just unveiled their most powerful Vantage ever in Gaydon, the United Kingdom, the brand new 2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage, with no less than 700 PS and 753 Nm of torque, this brutal Aston Martin boasts an aerodynamic package offering a massive 204 kg of downforce, straight from the factory, and this new Vantage will also mark the end of an era … this car, which is limited to just 333 units, will be the very last one fitted with the famous 5.2-Liter, Twin Turbocharged, V12 engine, after this model the V12 will be retired indefinitely.

The V12 Vantage has been a testament to Aston Martin’s passion for high-performance luxury GTs, and this new 2022 edition is the fastest, fiercest, and most dynamical of them all, when confirmation was made Aston Martin would be building this final edition as an ultimate expression of extreme performance and driver-focussed thrills back in December 2021, it didn’t take too long for all 333 units to be spoken for, this exclusive new V12 Vantage achieved so much attention there is actually a waiting list at the moment, just in case one of the 333 clients decides he, or she, doesn’t like the car and gives up their contract.

Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer, Tobias Moers, said of the V12 Vantage: “Every great sportscar brand has a hero car. For Aston Martin in more recent years, that car has been the V12 Vantage. Right from the moment the first V12 Vantage RS Concept was shown back in 2007 our customers and fans around the world fell in love with the idea of fitting our biggest engine into our smallest and most sporting model. The recipe has been refined over the years with great success, but the essence has remained the same. Now it is time to bring this bloodline to a close, fittingly with the most spectacular example yet – the fastest, most powerful, and most dynamically capable V12 Vantage ever. A celebration of its forebears and an embodiment of Aston Martin’s intensifying focus on driving dynamics, it ensures the V12 Vantage goes out on the highest of highs”.

Power in this ultimate V12 Vantage comes from a quad-cam 60° 5.2-Liter V12 beauty with amazing low and mid-range power delivery, the torque output of 753 Nm is available from as low as 1,800 rpm up to 6,000 rpm, the total power output of 700 PS at 6,500 rpm will be able to propel this lady from zero to 60 mph in a mere 3.4 seconds, only running out of breath when reaching a top speed of 200 mph, compared to the V8-powered Vantage, this new V12 version comes with a 20% increase in power to weight ratio, now at 390 PS per tonne.

This impressive power to weight ratio has been achieved by the extensive use of lightweight carbon fiber panels for the aggressively styled exterior on this V12 Vantage, this includes the front bumper, the clamshell hood, the front fenders, and the side sills, while the rear bumper is a composite unit, as is the deck lid, and to scratch every single pound off the weight, Aston Martin even fits a lightweight battery and went as far as to create a bespoke, central mounted exhaust system, made from 1mm stainless steel which is about 7.2 kg lighter compared to the exhaust found on the Vantage.

The era of the manual gearbox has been going away for a while now on high-power supercars, and the new V12 Vantage comes with an 8-Speed ZF automatic transmission, but more importantly, this gearbox has been tuned from experience with the V12 Speedster and Vantage F1® Edition, delivering a level of shift refinement and usability which is beyond that seen on dual-clutch gearboxes, more specifically a dynamic driving experience that complements its unmistakable engine performance and character, while ensuring the driver truly remains at the center of the driving experience, also thanks to the adaptive damping suspension.

That much power has to be able to stop in a hurry when conditions require it, so Aston Martin fits Carbon Ceramic Braking (CCB) to the V12 Vantage as standard fitment, massive 410mm x 38mm discs with 6-piston calipers for the front axle, while the rear axle gets equally impressive 360mm x 32mm discs are paired with 4-piston calipers, apart from saving an additional 23 kg of weight compared to steel disk brakes, these CCB have been engineered to resist brake fade at temperatures up to 800 degrees, helping the V12 Vantage unleash its full performance potential while giving the driver maximum confidence and precise control.

Aston Martin offers two different wheel designs for their new V12 Vantage, either in satin black or in a satin black with a diamond cut face, or a lightweight option that saves an additional 8 kg, always in a large 21-inch size and fitted with Michelin Pilot 4S high-performance tires in 275/35 R21 front and 315/30 R21 at the rear which will nicely fill out the 40mm wider bodywork of this V12 Vantage with lots of visible carbon fiber aerodynamics, the full-width front splitter creates additional downforce while the side profile has clearly been influenced by motorsport, and just in case you’re not a fan of that massive rear wing, fear not, Aston Martin offers a rear wing delete option.

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage comes with a new Sports Plus Seat trimmed in full semi-aniline leather featuring ‘Wings’ quilt and perforation pattern as standard, but you just to check out the new, optional carbon-fiber performance seat, complete with exposed twill carbon fiber shell, but now with manual 6-way adjustment, offering a supportive seat design for those enhanced driving dynamics and a distinct design character, do keep in mind this specific design has been inspired by motorsport and has been patented by Aston Martin patented, these are further optimized to save a further 7.3kg without compromising on the comfort you would expect from an Aston Martin.

Marco Mattiacci, Aston Martin Global Chief Brand and Commercial Officer, adds: “At Aston Martin we build cars, but we sell dreams. That is the magic of this brand. Only a select number of customers around the world can buy the V12 Vantage, yet like all our iconic models, its significance extends far beyond its exclusivity. What’s more, such is the level of bespoke personalization available via Q by Aston Martin even a car as rare as the V12 Vantage can be made to a specification completely unique to its owner”.

The production of this new Aston Martin V12 Vantage is set to commence as you are reading this, while the first cars will be delivered to their fortunate clients in Q2 of 2022, sadly, as all 333 units are already spoken for, you can no longer add your name to the list, but I’m sure several will become available once deliveries start, but most likely at a serious premium …
