Power and Speed
The R230 generation of the SL that was transformed into the Mercedes-AMG SL65 Black Series was limited to 350 cars. Half of those cars made it to the United States and the other half elsewhere around the world. Each was priced at $300,000 and totally worth it.
The car looked like nothing else out there. It was an SL, but it didn’t look like any SL. It was different even from the SL65. The Black Series took things to a whole new level.
The car featured a twin-turbo, 6.0-liter V12 that puts out a whopping 661 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. Yes, a twin-turbo V12. It is the car that you’ve always wanted. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
The SL65 AMG Black Series can do a 0-60 mph run in just 3.6 seconds. It will also sprint all the way up to 199 mph. Of course, you’ll have to have the balls to do it.
Recently, the YouTuber Tedward had a chance to get behind the wheel of one of these rockets. His reactions are on par with our reactions, and it’s safe to say you don’t need the new Mercedes GT when you can pick one of these up.
