Remember the Ford GT? I’m sure you do, with countless special editions over the years, and people arguing about how they didn’t make it onto the list to be able to buy one while prices on the second-hand market stay relatively strong for Fords’ latest supercar, but we all know 2023 will be the final year of production for this low-riding V6 beauty, and as a fitting homage and a send-off into the automotive history books Ford decided to do one final ‘special’ edition, and this time it is really something totally different, not a bespoke livery of a classic race car … the Ford GT Mk IV is a race car, as this one isn’t even street-legal, but fear not, there is also a Ford GT LM, not as extreme as the Mk IV, but the LM can be taken onto public roads.

The 2023 Ford GT Mk IV is a limited production model, only 67 will be built, as an homage to the original Mk IV that took the victory at the grueling 1967 24 hours of Le Mans, the 2023 model gets a bespoke body, a custom powertrain and suspension setup, created by Ford Performance and Multimatic, this is the most extreme Ford GT ever with an unconstrained performance from a unique to this model twin-turbo EcoBoost engine, add a racing transmission, some impressive, purely aero-focused exterior design, and even a longer wheelbase chassis for improved on-track handling.
