Desert Classic Concours (2012) – Recap & Photo Gallery

Rancho Mirage, California

February 26, 2012

Once again, the 2012 Rancho Mirage Desert Classic Concours d’Elegance showed why the event is considered to be among those moving into the forefront with attendees and participants alike. For its fifth year in the Palm Springs area, the Desert Classic moved to a new and spectacular location at the Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa under blue skies and warm temperatures. The exceptional field of classic automobiles, racing cars and vintage motorcycles was joined, for the first time ever, by an aerial display of international war birds flown by the Tiger Squadron. The weekend’s events included not only the concours, but also an auction, driving tour, classic parade and historic races held at the nearby Chuckwalla Valley Raceway. On the green, Don Murray’s 1963 Ferrari Super America took Best of Show honors with class wins going to superb examples from Delahaye, Marmon, Mercedes-Benz, Alfa Romeo, Jaguar and Lincoln.
