Let the Open-Top Car Game Continue
If you wanted an Aston Martin speedster that would compete with McLaren and Ferrari’s cars, then you’re in luck. The company will build one. However, you probably won’t get one. Aston will build only 88 of the V12 Speedster. The company released a sketch of the vehicle and it should be a handsome machine.
Created by the bespoke service Q branch of Aston Martin. The car has a design that’s reminiscent of the 1959 Le Mans-winning DBR1 and the CC100 Speedster Concept from 2013, according to Carscoops. The company has let it be known that the car will use a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that makes about 690 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The engine will send power to the rear wheels through a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.
The V12 Speedster isn’t about being the fastest Aston out there. It’ll be a two-seater focused on providing the most driver enjoyment possible. The car will be unveiled later this year and deliveries should happen in the first quarter of 2021. Pricing has not been announced, but Top Gear says it will be somewhere around $1 million.
