This Aviation Celebratory Model Is Gorgeous
The vehicle you see here is the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Concorde special edition. It’s the latest in the “Wings” series and follows cars like the Vanquish S Red Arrows Edition, Vantage Blades Edition, and the V12 Vantage S Spitfire 80. As with those cars, the DBS Superleggera Concorde celebrates a part of aviation—the Concorde, which enabled transatlantic passenger travel in a way that hadn’t been done before.
The Concorde made a flight from London to New York in 3.5 hours. The Superleggera isn’t quite that fast, but it is an impressive car. The vehicle can do 0-62 mph in just 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 211 mph. Q by Aston Martin took the DBS Superleggera and made it into a seriously special car for this special edition.
The vehicle gets side strakes milled from solid aluminum, a black carbon-fiber roof, and a British Airways livery. There are also some small chrome accents that represent the BA “Speedmarque” and some special Q emblems on the wings. Inside there’s gorgeous dark blue trim finish and Concorde logos on the seats. The headliner features the Concorde silhouette graphic.
Aston Martin hasn’t released a price for the car. As Evo Magazine notes, it’s not a car for you if you have to ask about the price. Aston did say that a portion of the proceeds will go to the Air League Trust, which is a non-profit that teaches underprivileged kids aviation and engineering.
