The Speedier Macan
Porsche unveiled a refreshed Macan last year. Now a Macan Turbo joins the ranks. The 2020 Porsche Macan Turbo features a 3.6-liter V6 engine that puts out 434 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. Mated to that engine is a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. Porsche Traction Management all-wheel drive filters power where it needs to go.
All of this makes the Macan Turbo good for a 0-62 mph sprint of just 4.3 seconds, which is three-tenths of a second quicker than the last Macan Turbo. If you let the new car run it out, it’ll top out at 167 mph when equipped with the Sport Chrono Package.
Providing stopping power for the little speedy SUV are Porsche Surface Coated brake rotors. These brakes feature tungsten carbide, which helps improve braking performance and creates up to 90 percent less brake dust. Macan Turbo owners can also choose Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes for even better stopping power. Customers can also opt for adjustable air suspension and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus.
The cabin of the Macan Turbo gets 18-way power-adjustable sports seats, Bose audio with 14 speakers, Alcantara material, and a 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system running the latest version of Porche’s operating system. The interior also boasts Qi wireless charging. The Macan Turbo will start at $84,950. This includes a $1,350 destination charge. Dealers will get the Macan Turbo in the fourth quarter of 2019.
