How about a car that can seat five people, even add some luggage, and can still accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in a little over 2 seconds? That is exactly what the Tesla Model S Plaid can do for you, a super quick EV that can rival multi-million dollar hypercars for a fraction of the price, and if you get the Track Package you even get a higher top speed too, close to 200 mph … but as with most electric vehicles, doing that kind of ‘energy pulling’ will have you run out of battery power in less than 20 minutes, so not very practical in the end.
The new Tesla Model S Plaid Track Package comes with as much as 1,020 bhp and 1,050 lb-ft of torque, so it is clear the two electric motors at the rear and the single one at the front are capable of some amazing performance leaving the line, but you can still drive it like a ‘normal’ car, doing normal speeds and acceleration from the red light, and still have massive power reserve underneath your right foot, and have the comforting feeling of having carbon-ceramic brakes just in case you need to slow down in a hurry.
So let’s see what Tom Ford from Top Gear has to say about the Tesla Model S Plaid Track Package in his latest review:
