Despite being a decade old, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series retains its timeless appeal and continues to defy expectations. Introduced in 2013, this remarkable car boasted a naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine, capable of delivering an impressive 622 horsepower (631 PS) and 468 lb-ft (635 Nm) of torque to the rear axle via a seven-speed dual-clutch sports transmission. The car’s suspension was redesigned, lowering it by 10 mm compared to the standard SLS AMG, resulting in a more aggressive stance.
In their pursuit of excellence, Mercedes utilized copious amounts of carbon fiber, effectively shedding 154 lb (70 kg) from the vehicle’s weight. With a total weight of 3,415 pounds (1,549 kilograms), the SLS AMG Black Series became even more agile and responsive on the road.
When it comes to performance, the SLS AMG Black Series still delivers. It accelerates from zero to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in a mere 3.6 seconds. With a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h), this car proves that it hasn’t lost its edge over the years.
