RM Auctions at Amelia Island & $6,600,000 Delahaye 135
RM Auctions host the official auction of the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance and this year they sold $35,947,500 in collector cars.
The sale was notable for the inclusion of the late Malcom Pray collection which included the 1939 Delahaye 135 that fetched a world record $6,600,000 USD. His BMW 507 also broke a model record at $2,420,000 USD.
Further highlights came from the Richard and Linda Kughn collection as well as cars from the late Charles “Chuck” Swimmer including his dramatic Windovers Sedanca Coupe Bentley.
We had a great opportunity to meet Charlie Kemp who sold his Mustang GT350R for $984,500. This is the same car which he did 180 mph with at Daytona. The front hood buckled, but forced an air exit out the driver’s side which they left on the car.
All these great cars and more can be found in our feature gallery.
