The 6th annual Put-in-Bay Road Races Reunion (PIBRRR), scheduled for August 25-27, 2014 on South Bass Island in Lake Erie near Sandusky, Ohio, will feature an expanded race program with classes for production sports cars and sedans with displacements under 3-liters, built prior to 1973. This year’s event will continue to accept sports racers under 1.5-liters, Formula Vees and Formula Juniors, while offering an exhibition class for selected racecars that don’t meet the general criteria. The Reunion also welcomes owner-drivers of non-racing vintage sports cars of all types to come and participate in various events and activities.

Jack Woehrle, race director of the event since its founding in 2009, welcomes the broadening of the spectrum for eligible race participants. “The secret is out that Put-in-Bay offers probably the most relaxed, enjoyable and family-friendly vintage sports car racing event on the planet,” said Woehrle, “so we think it’s time to let drivers of later and bigger displacement vintage racecars come and share the fun.”

Once again part of the festivities will be the annual Turner USA Reunion, under the leadership of John Ruth. The organizers also expect another healthy turnout of MGs and Morgans, which put on a great show—both on and off the track—at last year’s event, by far the largest PIBRRR to date.
