Cunningham Sports Cars: American Racing Legends 1951–1955

Foreword by Karl Ludvigsen

The latest offering from Iconografx’s Ludvigsen Library Series is a photographic history of the famed sports cars built by Briggs Cunningham. After racing a variety of racecars built by other manufacturers, sportsman Briggs Cunningham set out on a quest to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a car of his own construction. The result was the mighty blue-and-white Cunningham sports cars built between 1951 and 1955.

In this 125-page compilation of black-and-white photographs (many never before seen) Ludvigsen reveals the tale of the creation of the C-2, C-4R, C-5R and C-6R, as well as their often star-crossed assaults on Le Mans. The racing photos are fabulous and well reproduced, but it is the technical shots and detail photos that reveal many new insights into these quintessentially American racecars.

This book will be a must-have for any fan of the Cunningham family of racecars. Available directly from the publisher for $24.95 (+$4.95 S&H) by calling (800) 289-3504.
