Sleek, Innovative, and Fast
The Piëch Mark Zero all-electric sports car debuted, and it’s Piëch Automotive’s first car. The company has plans for more, but first, the world will get to enjoy a beautiful, elegant GT car that’s a real performer, too. The car’s unique platform and innovative batteries help make it a standout in the EV segment.
The batteries run down the center tunnel, allowing the seats to be placed low as they should in a sports car. The rest of the batteries sit along the rear axle, which gives the car a familiar weight distribution to other sports cars. This unique design will be what lets Piëch build several different designs off the one platform.
The Mark Zero is no slouch in the performance department either. The car gets three electric motors. There is a 150 kW motor up front and two other 150 kW motors in the rear. These motors should put out about 600 hp. The car can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph.
It can travel 311 miles per charge and charge up to 80 percent of the battery capacity in a little over four and a half minutes. Thanks to new battery cell technology. This new battery technology also reduces weight. The entire car weighs about 4,000 pounds.
The company plans to use the Mark Zero as a launching point for the rest of the lineup it plans to build. The company wants to have three vehicles in its lineup, including a two-seater (the Mark Zero) a four-seater, and a sporty SUV. With range and recharge times like the numbers above indicate, we could see all of these vehicles becoming a hit.
