It has been six long years since the last time a Pagani Huayra was unveiled. But the wait is over because here at the Geneva Motor Show, we finally get to see a new Pagani Huayra in a roadster version and it looks very awesome!
The new Pagani Huayra Roadster is not your typical roadsters and convertibles where that are usually heavier than their closed counterparts. It is 176 pounds lighter thanks to its carbon-titanium chassis tub and a 25 percent lighter HiForge suspension. We surely appreciate how Pagani managed to make this new Huayra fit into roadster specification considering how light this one is.
Inside, is an upgraded Mercedes-AMG engine that beats out 753 horsepower with over 738 pound-feet of torque. The engine is a V12 biturbo unit and the turbos are specifically tuned for better throttle response. Aside from the upgraded engine, there is also dry-sump lubrication, a new X-Trac seven-speed one gearbox and an automated manual. These improvements allows the new Pagani Huayra Roadster to shave 40% off its total weight.
The new Huayra Roadster is offered with roof system designs. There is a detachable hardtop made from carbon fiber and glass and the other is a fabric job that is more suited for sudden rain.
The new Pagani Huayra is priced at $2.4 million although it’s a little bit too late to order for one because all of its 100 units are already sold.
