I ask because Renault has bought the Benetton team and has renamed it, but the team’s headquarters is at Enstone in Oxfordshire and most of the employees are British. Benetton began life as Toleman, which was British. Benetton continued to be British for a few seasons; you could tell that because “God Save the Queen” was played when it won. Then Flavio Briatore decided it was an Italian team, so the Italian national anthem would be played, though I cannot recall that it ever was. Got to win first.
Is Williams British? Sure, apart from the German engines, the French tires and Italian brakes, which is also true of McLaren. Ferrari is as Italian as they come, except for the fact that the Technical Director is English, the Chief Designer is South African and the team coordinator is French.
