This month’s featured Web site was created by a British group of enthusiasts dedicated to preserving the U.K.’s motor racing heritage. The MRA collects and preserves various forms of motor racing history, including photographs, programs, movies, audio recordings and magazines, and is available to research various topics of interest for enthusiasts and historians.
MRA’s site includes a wide assortment of interesting information and trivia. Organized into numerous sections, the “Motor Racing” section features extensive results, tables and histories on a wide variety of topics, including circuits, drivers, events, marques, sound files and even a database that allows you to review significant racing anniversaries that occurred on any chosen day throughout the year (much like VRJ’s own “Time Capsule”).
One of the cornerstones of the MRA is the fact that it is the repository for all of the archives of Britain’s BRSCC racing club. As such, one of the many features of this site is an in-depth history of the BRSCC dating back to the turn of the century. Other features include the official Reynard Chassis Registry, links and a bulletin board which allows users to ask questions and exchange information on the history of motorsport.
