The Fastest Executive Car is a Mercedes
Earlier this year, Porsche’s Panamera Turbo became the fastest executive car around the Nurburgring with a time of 7:29.81. Mercedes-AMG said hold my schnitzel and set a time of 7:23.009 and 7:27.800, to beat Porsche.
Both times were officially measured and notary-certified. That means the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ is the winner in this class of vehicles.
The car was a completely standard model, according to Carscoops. The vehicle even in its standard form is a true weapon of an automobile with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that makes 730 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. That engine is mated to a nine-speed gearbox that sends the engine’s power to an all-wheel-drive system that’s specifically designed to deliver maximum performance.
A 0 to 62 mph run takes 3.2 seconds and the car can do a top speed of 196 mph. Also, this car can go around corners and handle like a true track car. The vehicle was equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and an aerodynamics package, which are optional equipment on the car, but readily available for purchase.
Demian Schaffert was the man who made this run happen. He said the following after the runs:
“Even though I’ve been accompanying our GT 63 through its development for several years now, it’s always impressive to see the wide spread we have been able to achieve with this exclusive vehicle.”
