Mecum Auctions

Kissimmee, Florida

January 24-29, 2012

Mecum Auctions started the celebration of its Silver Anniversary in business with a bang at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida. The six-day event saw 1,548 cars sold out of the 2,158 offered for a sell-through of 73%. Gross sales approached the $60 million threshold with spirited bidding seen throughout the week and the sale prices for exceptional cars exceeded presale estimates uniformly across the board. As one could expect with nearly 300 Corvettes offered, prices were strong for “America’s Only Sports Car,” with four examples making the top ten list for prices realized. In evaluating the auction results, Dana Mecum stated enthusiastically, “Company records were smashed in nearly every category including number of vehicles offered, vehicles sold, total sales, attendance and number of registered bidders.”
