
Thanks to vintage races, such as the 2002 Monterey Historics shown here, we can still appreciate ageless lovelies like Jaguar's D-type. And her beauty went all the way through: the "D-Jag" was arguably the most important sports car of 1956, the Le Mans winner that year, and also in both '55 and '57. Its luscious curves and lovely twin-cam, production-based motorÑmounted in frontÑseemed like the perfect design. A little aerodynamic instability? Just put a "feather" on it.
