We’ve seen the brand new Lotus SUV in videos from most YouTube stars already, but the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed event was the first time the general public would be able to admire the Eletre for the first time in real life, and she drew a lot of attention, the Lotus stand was crowded most of the time.
It seems a lot of people were eagerly awaiting the opportunity to see the hyper-SUV from Lotus, the progressive and exotic-looking EV still has the soul of Lotus as we know it, but adds the usability and roominess of an SUV, visitors bombarded the product specialists on the stand with questions about this new electric Lotus … in the end, they even had signed order sheets from people right on the stand at Goodwood.
The Lotus stand during this 2022 Goodwood FoS premiered the ultimate three-car garage, with Eletre being joined not only by the good-looking Emire sports car but also by the pioneering Evija hypercar … and just in case that didn’t astonish you enough, Lotus added a bright yellow competition-inspired Emira GT4 race car, unveiled just last month and already sold out for the first year.
And Lotus didn’t just have a static display, none other than Formula 1 world champion Jenson Button would be on the stand, and behind the wheel of these cars during their stint on the famous Goodwood Hill Climb event, changing cars between runs.
Matt Windle commented: “What an amazing first day at Goodwood – with such a passionate and knowledgeable crowd it never disappoints! The Lotus stand was busy from the moment the gates opened at 7am, and was great to see the fans new and old getting up close to our cars and chatting with our team. If day one was anything to go by, the rest of the weekend will be a massive success too!”
