Historic Formula Super Vee Registry

As outlined in this month’s Racecar Profile, the Formula Super Vee series served as an important rung on the racing ladder in the 1970s and 1980s. A number of racing greats like Michael Andretti, Al Unser Jr. and Arie Luyendyk all cut their teeth in Super Vee before moving up to Indycars. This month’s featured Web site serves as the official registry for current Super Vee owners, and includes a host of historical information on the category.

In terms of history, this site includes pages devoted to the class’ regulations, as well as its history in the UK, Continental Europe, Brazil and, of course, the U.S. Other sections provide listings of all the drivers who competed, as well as all the manufacturers who built Super Vee chassis. Related to this, listings can be downloaded, by marque, compiling all the chassis and owners currently included in the registry. Other sections include links to Super Vee forums, current historic racing news and related links.

While several pages appear to have not been updated in some time, there is still a lot of information to be found here for those interested in learning more about this influential, but often forgotten, racing category.
