Audi first introduced the R8 in 2006 but in 2023, the German car manufacturer announced that their long-serving V10 supercar is heading for the history books. To give it a proper send-off, Audi introduced the R8 GT RWD which is their last V10 supercar.
From its inception, the Audi R8 has been a game-changer, reshaping perceptions of what a sports car could achieve. The GT rear-wheel drive, boasting an impressive 611 brake horsepower, stands as the pinnacle of the R8 lineup. It signals a departure from the Quattro system, emphasizing the car’s rear-wheel-drive nature and reaffirming its commitment to delivering a thrilling driving experience.
The R8 has always been a head-turner, and the GT rear-wheel drive takes this to new heights. Its aggressive design, generating 300 kilos of downforce, pays homage to Audi’s GT race cars. Aerodynamic elements, such as the swan-neck rear wing and massive diffuser, not only enhance performance but also create a visual spectacle. This model represents the culmination of years of design evolution, making it the most striking R8 to date.
