Nothing Is Enough for Hennessey
If you thought the Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 would be plenty of car and have plenty of horsepower from the factory, then you are nothing like the guys at Hennessey Performance. The tuner company plans to release three packages for the GT500 that will boost horsepower. The top-level one will make the car good for 1,200 hp, according to The Supercar Blog.
The GT500 already produces 760 hp. That’s quite a lot—more than most people will ever need or have a chance to use. Still, Hennessey likes to make the most of every sports car it can get its hands on. This means the company will produce three packages named Venom 850, Venom 1000, and the Venom 1200. As you can expect, the first will boost the performance to 850 hp, the second to 1,000 hp, and the third to 1,200 hp.
Venom 850
The Venom 850 features a new, better supercharger; high-flow catalytic converters; high-flow air induction system; and stainless steel, long-tube headers. This will allow the big V8 mill under the hood of the car to pump out 850 hp. Torque will be increased to 725 lb-ft.
Venom 1000
When it comes to the Venom 1000, the GT500 will get a 3.0-liter supercharger, improved fuel system, improve intercooler, and an upgraded transmission to handle the power increases. After all of the upgrades, the power for this model will be 1,000 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque.
Venom 1200
The top-dog version of the GT500 from Hennessey is the Venom 1200. The car will receive new pistons and rods, new fuel system, upgraded intercooler, high-flow air induction system, and a twin-turbo setup. All told, the car will produce 1,200 hp and 1,000 lb-ft of torque. A new transmission will be fitted to handle all of the extra power.
