Goodwood Revival (2013) – Jim Clark Tribute Photos

The Goodwood Revival 2013, held 13-15 September at the Goodwood Motor Circuit in England, honored the legendary Scottish racer Jim Clark with a daily parade covering the length and breadth of his competition career.

This year’s Revival celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of Clark’s first Formula One drivers’ title. The sainted Scot was just 32-years-old when he perished in a Formula 2 race at Hockenheim, Germany on April 7th, 1968. Clark’s remarkable virtuosity was honoured over all three days with a selection of racing cars campaigned by the great man taking to the circuit for a series of special parades.

On display at the 2013 Goodwood Revival included Lotus Elans and Cortinas, Tasman single-seaters, the Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato ‘2VEV’ which he raced for John Ogier’s equipe early in his career, the Lotus 25 in which Clark won the F1 World Championship in 1963, the Lotus-Cortina in which he won the 1964 British Saloon Car Championship and the Lotus 38 he drove to victory at the 1965 Indianapolis 500. Star drivers taking part in the Tribute included Sir Stirling Moss, Sir Jackie Stewart, Tony Brooks and Dario Franchitti. The Jim Clark Trust also used this special occasion to announce a substantial investment in the funding of a new Jim Clark museum, set to open in 2018.
