The Formula 5000 Drivers Association has announced a four-race schedule for 2015, highlighted by the group’s invitation to be a part of next summer’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on the weekend of August 13-16.

Other dates on the schedule include The Hawk with Brian Redman at Road America on July 16-19, the Monterey Pre-Reunion, a week prior to the Rolex weekend at Laguna Seca, and the 3rd Annual SVRA Vintage National Championships at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, on November 4-8.

Speaking of his organization’s participation at Monterey, F5DA president Seb Coppola said: “As a group we are delighted to participate in the 2015 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion and Pre-Reunion events. With an expected grid of more than 40 Formula 5000 racecars coming from Australia, Canada, England, New Zealand and various regions of the U.S., we look forward to some excellent racing and giving racing fans a great show.”

The last time a professional Formula 5000 race was held at the track was in October of 1975, when Mario Andretti drove his VPJ Viceroy Lola T332-Chevy to victory. This same car, now owned by Zak Brown, will be among those in the Rolex Reunion field this august..
