Ford’s Mustang Mach-E Top Trim Level Reservations Full

The Highest-End Clydesdale Seems to be Popular

Say what you will about Ford’s choice to make an electric SUV and call it a Mustang, the company seems to be fulfilling pre-orders easily enough. According to Automotive News, the top-level Mustang Mach-E pre-orders are full. The company didn’t say how many pre-orders it has, though.

The trim level that is pre-ordered out is the First Edition. Ford will make four other versions of the Mustang Mach-E. Total production for all of the Mach-E trim levels in limited to 50,000 vehicles in the first 12 months, so we expect a healthy portion of that 50,000 will be First Editions.

It’s important to note that pre-orders do not equal actual sales. All that is required is $500, which is fully refundable. Some people will likely back out before they take delivery of the vehicle. Still, many will keep their pre-orders and eventually actually take delivery.

The special First Edition versions of the Mach-E make 459 hp from two electric motors. That power is sent to all four wheels. This gives the car a 0-60 mph time of about 3.5 seconds, which is similar to a Porsche 911 GTS. The car has a standard range of 239 miles and a range of 300 miles with the range extender.
