The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Project One Edition was created specifically for the 275 customers who had pre-ordered the German manufacturer’s plug-in hybrid hypercar, initially unveiled in ‘concept’ form in 2017. Featuring a hybrid petrol/electric powertrain derived from Formula 1 technology, bringing this innovation to a series production road car proved more time-consuming than anticipated by Mercedes.
As a gesture of appreciation for their customers’ patience, Mercedes offered the opportunity to purchase a special Project One variant of the Black Series exclusively to those who had pre-ordered the hypercar; for those who hadn’t, the Black Series spin-offs remained out of reach.
But today, you now have the chance to acquire this top-tier and extremely exclusive supercar courtesy of Bring A Trailer. This particular 2021 P One Edition stands out with its exclusive Cirrus Silver and Obsidian Black color scheme, drawing inspiration from the Mercedes-AMG Motorsport F1 W10 Formula 1 race car.
The hand-painted progression of the famed three-pointed star logo from the doors to the rear of the vehicle adds a distinctive touch. Inside and out, Turquoise Green accents pay tribute to the enduring partnership between Mercedes-Benz and primary sponsor Petronas.
The P One Edition benefits from years of Mercedes-Benz AMG GT and F1 racing technology, pushing driving dynamics to their utmost extreme. This is exemplified by its formidable M178 twin-turbocharged 4.0L V-8 engine, exclusively developed for the GT Black Series, delivering a thunderous 720 HP and 590 lb-ft of torque through an AMG Speedshift dual-clutch automatic transmission to an AMG limited-slip differential via a carbon fiber torque tube.
Equipped with 19″ and 20″ forged wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, adaptive sport suspension, carbon-fiber bodywork and trim, LED lights, front and rear cameras, heated AMG performance seats, and a Burmester surround-sound system, this AMG GT Black Series AMG ONE Edition boasts only 65 miles on the odometer, making it an effectively ‘as new’ example all throughout.
