Introduced in 1993, the McLaren F1 redefined the supercar, becoming one of the most iconic cars ever built. Two decades later, McLaren revisited its masterpiece for inspiration, creating the world’s first hybrid supercar.
The P1 played a pivotal role in McLaren’s modern legacy, launching in 2013 as part of the legendary “Holy Trinity” alongside the Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder. With only 375 units produced, it remains rarer than its rivals and helped define McLaren’s future design language, influencing models like the 650S and 675LT.
It features a 3.8L twin-turbo V8 paired with an electric motor, producing 903 hp. Its lightweight carbon fiber MonoCage integrates the passenger cell and chassis, weighing just 90kg. Advanced aerodynamics, including RCC and adjustable wings, optimize downforce, enabling a 0-60 mph time of 2.7 seconds, 100 mph in 5.1 seconds, and a top speed of 217 mph.
Originally built to GCC specifications, this 2015 McLaren P1 was delivered new to Qatar and has remained in static storage by a single owner since new. Finished in a unique matte green exterior, it is one of the few P1s with matte paint, complemented by McLaren Orange accents on the badges, brake calipers, spoiler rams, and interior details. The cabin continues this theme, featuring McLaren Orange leather upholstery with black stitching and matching trim on key controls.
This example will be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s in late March and is expected to sell for as much as $1,500,000. With its one-of-a-kind specification and exceptionally low mileage, this P1 is one of the most remarkable to come to market in recent years.
