A Wonderful Piece of Automotive History
The DeLorean DMC-12 will always live on in the minds of some people due to its association with the Back to the Future films, but this unique car is so much more than that. It’s an interesting part of American automotive history. This particular 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 is for sale on Bring A Trailer.
The car was first sold from Paul Miller Ford of Lexington, Kentucky in March of 1983. The was acquired by its second owner in 1999. The selling dealer bought this car in mid-2020.
It features the iconic stainless steel exterior with gullwing doors over a gray leather interior. The engine in this car is a 2.85-liter PRV V6 that’s connected to a five-speed manual transmission. The car also features braided stainless-steel clutch and fuel lines. It also received a P.J. Grady coolant-overflow tank.
The car shows around 18,000 miles on the odometer and it is offered with service records from 1999 to 2009, signed license plants from past DeLorean Convention and Show events, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Ohio title. At the time of this writing, bidding for the car is up to $26,750 and the auction has three days left.
