Sleek, Black, and Beautiful
The DeTomaso Pantera is one of those cars that’s loved by collectors and enthusiasts to an extreme degree. The car is a bit of an oddball when putting up against other supercars of its era, but it’s every bit as delightful. The Pantera you see here is for sale on Bring a Trailer right now with only a few hours left before the auction ends.
This particular model is a Pre-L model with a black exterior and a black interior. Powering the car is a 351ci Cleveland V8 paired with a ZF five-speed manual transaxle. In 2009 and 2010 the vehicle got a $31,000 cosmetic and mechanical overhaul. This included changing the car from a white exterior to the black you see here. The seller of this vehicle acquired it in 2015 and has only had it for five years.
The car does have some aftermarket parts and components, including aftermarket side mirrors, a Kenwood CD stereo, a polished Edelbrock intake manifold, a 600cfm Holley four-barrel carburetor, roller rocker arms, adjustable rear coil-overs, and 17-inch Campagnolo-style wheels.
Other equipment on the car includes air conditioning, power windows, split chrome bumpers, and quad exhaust tips. There’s also a Deluxe Marti report, an owner’s manual, and all of the service records since 2009. When it comes to the title, it’s a clean California title in the seller’s name.
Overall, this is a fantastic example of a Pantera. While it’s far from totally original, it’s still a very cool car and could be a fantastic buy if you’ve always been interested in one of these.
