The 24th running of the Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival will be held at Road America on the weekend of September 11–13, with Stock Cars as this year’s featured category. Road America’s long straights and fast sweeping turns make it an ideal place for the ground-pounding stockers to stretch their legs. Only once have NASCAR’s best tackled these famous four miles, and that was back in 1956, when the entire race was run in a light rain—almost unheard of in NASCAR circles.
