Driving a One-of-a-Kind Hypercar: Koenigsegg Chimera

Meet the Koenigsegg Chimera, a one-off marvel that transcends the extraordinary pedigree of the Agera RS. Although it appears similar on the outside, the Chimera is a wholly unique creation named after the mythological creature known for being a hybrid of different animals.

Powering this mechanical masterpiece is the same engine from the Jesko—a twin-turbo 5.0L V8, capable of delivering 1280 brake horsepower on regular 95-octane fuel or a staggering 1600 horsepower on E85.

But the Chimera’s real innovation lies in its transmission. The Chimera’s gearbox, a nine-speed automatic from the Jesko, is outfitted with sensors and actuators to replicate the tactile feedback of a true manual transmission, which delivers an exhilarating driving experience.

And to prove that for us, Jack Rix from Top Gear magazine traveled to Sweden just to experience first hand what it’s like to be behind-the-wheel of the Koenigsegg Chimera.
