Don’t Miss This Rare Jaguar XJ220 for Sale

The Jaguar XJ220, a worthy heir to Jaguar’s illustrious racing legacy, made waves in 1991 by setting a production car speed record at 212.3 mph in stock form. In 1992, an XJ220 with its catalytic converters removed increased this record to 217.1 mph.

Initially envisioned as a four-wheel drive V12 in the 1980s, the XJ220 underwent significant design changes due to Jaguar’s acquisition by Ford and manufacturing challenges. The final model featured a mid-engine, twin-turbo V6, generating 542 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque.

Economic difficulties during its production led to fewer deliveries, affecting the car’s reputation. Only about 280 units were produced over two years. One such unit, manufactured on June 18, 1993, is now currently up for sale on Bring A Trailer.

This particular example, finished in Spa Silver with a Charcoal leather interior, boasts a storied history including ownership in Germany and the United States, along with prestigious concours awards.

This XJ220 features a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6, a five-speed manual transaxle, an aluminum chassis, AP Racing brakes, and other luxury components. It has 1,150 kilometers (~700 miles) and is offered for sale with 1,150 kilometers (~700 miles) on the odometer and comes with extensive documentation.
