The basic site here is very broad-based, but in its “Racing” section is this subsection devoted to Dan Gurney’s career as a racing driver, car builder and team owner. It has eight separate sections of its own, each dealing with a different aspect and phase of Dan’s time in the sport.
It seems that this is as much a personal tribute to Dan as a complete journalistic assessment of his racing days, but it’s still well worth a look, if only for the photos that chronicle a great many of the cars in which Gurney registered the successes that made him an international star.
The eight segments include records and information on Dan’s participation in American Sports Car races, International Sports Car races, Formula 1 Grand Prix races, Indycar races, Stock car races, and Can-Am and Trans-am races, as well as a career overview of his work as a car builder and team owner.
If you’re a Gurney scholar, you probably won’t find much here you didn’t already know, but then again, you might. If you’re not completely conversant with the career of the All American Racer, then give this site a look.
