Dan Gurney At Targa Florio Artwork
Masha Pasichnyk is a 23-year-old artist living and working in Kiev, Ukraine, who is presently visiting the USA. Masha’s interest in car art became aroused after painting a friend’s car. Automobile art dealer Steve Austin recognized a remarkable ability and asked Masha to visit his art display booth at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, and this year’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. Visitors to the booth were able to watch Masha turn a blank canvas into a living rendition of race drivers and cars. At Long Beach, Masha was also able to meet Mario Andretti and Dan Gurney, who both admired her work and signed her canvases.
Here she depicts Gurney driving the Shelby American Cobra roadster with which he and Jerry Grant won their class in the 1964 running of the Targa Florio. While this work is in acrylic, she paints in watercolors and heavy oil as well. Austin also arranged a special showing of Pasichnyk’s work for this year’s Monaco Grand Prix that included paintings featuring Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, Gilles Villeneuve and Nico Rosberg.
