Reviews, Prices & The Best New Bugatti Cars
Its a slim lineup for Bugatti with only current models, the Mistral, is a hyper-roadster. You can't get one anymore as all 99 order slots have been filled at the astonishingly steep price of €5 million. The other is the brand new hypercar, the Tourbillon with 1,775 horsepower from a V16 hybrid powertrain. Replacing the impressive Bugatti Chiron, which itself replaced the mighty Veyron, the Tourbillon takes a slightly different approach to the big power, high top speed game under new owner Rimac.

Everything You Need to Know About 2025 Bugatti Lineup. The Ultimate Bugatti Buyers Guide And Our Opinion On the Best New Bugatti This Year.
In 2021, Bugatti entered a new chapter through establishing a partnership with Rimac, the Croatian boutique automaker which took the world by storm in recent decade, establishing itself as a leading force in electric mobility. The Bugatti-Rimac partnership hints at some form of electrification in the future, but not before the marvelous W16 engine reaches new heights, as per the the new company's CEO, Mate Rimac. It could be argued that Bugatti might as well be a single-model make, but the lineup definitely boasts enough credentials to be considered much more than a mere one-trick-pony. 2025 is actually a very interesting year for Bugatti, as there are technically no new models based on the Chiron being released, only cars being produced to finish up the Chiron's end of life special editions.
Bugatti has two current models, the Mistral, which is a hyper-roadster. You can't get one anymore as all 99 order slots have been filled at the astonishingly steep price of €5 million ($5,379,750 USD in 2024). The only other car that is being made in 2024, apart from the Chiron's last models before the production line starts on the Mistral, is the track only Bolide, at €4 million each, with all 40 slots already bought up back in 2021. Production of the Bolide is expected to end in mid-2024 as they are producing 1 to 2 cars per month at current production rates. Bugatti’s new hypercar, the Tourbillon, has been revealed with 1,775 horsepower from a V16 hybrid powertrain. Replacing the impressive Bugatti Chiron, which itself replaced the mighty Veyron, the Tourbillon takes a slightly different approach to the big power, high top speed game under new owner Rimac.

More properly the W16 Mistral, the hyper-roadster is the last car that will bear the now-legendary 8.0L quad-turbo W16 monster producing 1,578 HP. Named after the powerful wind that sweeps across the French coast as Cote d'Azur, it has a completely unique design that is not based on the Chiron or Veyron. Even the chassis has been designed specifically for this extremely expensive, extremely rare beast, and when it does hit the road, if it does so before the Aston Martin Valkyrie Roadster, it will be the fastest drop top of all time. It is expected to hit 250+ MPH with the top down thanks to very well designed and engineered aerodynamics, without the cabin area creating a drag vacuum.
With the Chiron’s replacement, the 1,800-horsepower Tourbillon, Bugatti enters a new era. Unlike the Veyron and Chiron, the Tourbillon is not named after a Bugatti racing driver on the count of it no longer housing a W16 engine. Instead, its inspiration comes from the world of watchmaking. It gets a brand-new 8.3-liter naturally aspirated V16 engine co-developed with Cosworth and combines it with three electric motors, two in its front axle and one in the rear. This setup not only develops a further 800 hp, but Bugatti integrated it to sharpen throttle response and fill in torque when necessary, aside from allowing for true torque vectoring and all-wheel traction. Its total system output is 1,800 hp, and its naturally aspirated engine spins to a screaming 9,000 rpm. Welcome to 2025.
2025 Bugatti W16 Mistral
Our Take: Powerful, elegant and expensive swan song for the iconic W16 engine.
Overview
The W16 Mistral is not exactly what you would call a poor sendoff for an engine that started its life nearly two decades ago. The W16 Mistral will be the final car to carry the 8.0L quad-turbo behemoth, and has been engineered and designed to go faster than any roadster before, making it the world's first hyper-roadster. Due to some ingenious aerodynamics, even when going at maximum velocity, the wind inside the cabin is expected to be minimal due to how the front of the car will create an "air skirt" over the cabin, which is also what will allow it to go well beyond the 200 MPH mark. No one really knows what the true top speed is yet, but computer simulations have all come back as 250+ mph! For a last hurrah, that's definitely not a bad speed at all!

2025 Bugatti Tourbillon
Our Take: Another stunner from Bugatti
Overview
Under Mate Rimac's leadership, the new Bugatti was expected to employ a hybrid-electric-and-combustion powertrain with enough boost to blast the car to Mars. The Tourbillon features not the iconic W-16 that has been the heart and soul of Bugatti for some 20 years, but an all-new 8.3-liter V-16 mounted amidships combined with three electric motors totaling 1800 hp. While the new car clearly uses Bugatti's design language, there's plenty new here. Styling is subjective, but speed is not; the Tourbillon's projected numbers are extreme. The car's overall shape is strikingly unique—yet clearly Bugatti. The center spine draws from the Type 57 SC Atlantic of the 1930s, one of the most beautiful cars ever made.
Like the Chiron, the Tourbillon's power turns all four wheels, but it does so in an entirely reimagined way. The Tourbillon ditches the Chiron's quad-turbo 8.0-liter W-16 for an entirely new 8.3-liter V-16 with a cross-plane crank—the 16-cylinder equivalent of a flat-plane V-8—that spins up to 9000 rpm and is good for 986 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. Cosworth helped develop the engine, which surprisingly eschews forced induction for natural aspiration. The Tourbillon's powertrain story extends beyond its high-revving internal-combustion engine. The V-16 gets a boost from a trio of electric motors: two at the front axle and another at the rear. In all, the three motors make 789 horsepower. Add the engine to the mix, and the Tourbillon powertrain packs a 1775-hp punch.
Pricing
How about $4.6 million for a piece of Bugatti's amazing engineering, design and technical brilliance. I may need to put mine on lay-away.
What's New for 2025?
Mate Rimac's first new car as head of Bugatti proves every bit worth the wait—and the hype and its all new for 2025. Just 250 Bugatti Tourbillons will be built, with deliveries starting in 2026.
