Concorso Italiano (2012) – Bertone Design Cars Featured

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Bertone Design, Concorso Italiano will feature several prominent concept cars from the Bertone Collection. Bertone has also confirmed that they will debut several prominent concept cars from its collection for the first time in North America including the continental debut of the Nuccio supercar.

Over the years, many of the world’s leading manufacturers have commisioned Bertone to create cars that have since become benchmarks for auto design and icons of Italian style including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Fiat, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Volvo and Ford.  Some of its most significant production designs include the Lancia Stratos, Ferari Dino 308 GT4, Fiat’s X1/9 and 850 Spider and landmark Lamborghinis like the Miura, Countach, Urracco and Espada.

Bertone has had a long history with the event and company president Lilli Bertone will participate at this year’s event in Monterey, stating, “Bertone has produced some of the most beautiful and historically important automobiles. It is my hope that many of those cars can be brought to this special centennial event.”

This year’s concorso will return to the lush greens at the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch in Monterey, California and likely continue to boast the world’s largest collection of classic Italian automobiles and supercars in one place outside of Italy. The annual celebration of all great things from Italy will also feature fashion, food and wine in what has become the traditional kickoff event for Monterey Car Week.
