Sauber Motorsport, originally founded by Swiss entrepreneur Peter Sauber in the 1970s, has been a prominent fixture in motorsport for decades. In 2005, BMW acquired a majority stake in the team, leading to a rebranding as BMW Sauber. However, Peter Sauber regained control in 2010, renaming the team once again as Sauber F1 Team.
