Rickenbacker
Rickenbacker cars, produced by the Rickenbacker Motor Company between 1922 and 1927, were known for their innovative engineering and connection to aviation heritage. Founded by Eddie Rickenbacker, a World War I flying ace and Medal of Honor recipient, the company aimed to bring advanced technology and high performance to the automotive industry. Rickenbacker cars were among the first to feature four-wheel brakes, a significant safety improvement over the common two-wheel braking systems of the time. Despite their technical advancements and stylish design, Rickenbacker cars struggled in the competitive market of the 1920s and ultimately ceased production in 1927. However, they remain a fascinating example of early 20th-century automotive innovation and the ambitious crossover of aviation expertise into car manufacturing.
