Perana
Perana Performance Group, a South African automotive company founded by racing driver Basil Green, gained recognition for its high-performance modifications to Ford vehicles in the 1960s and 1970s. However, Perana’s legacy was further elevated with the creation of the Perana Z-One, a sports car designed in collaboration with Italian styling house Zagato. Introduced in 2009, the Z-One showcased Perana’s engineering prowess and Zagato’s iconic design language, resulting in a striking and dynamic sports car. Powered by a potent V8 engine, the Z-One offered exhilarating performance and a thrilling driving experience. While production numbers were limited, the Perana Z-One left a lasting impression as a testament to South Africa’s automotive innovation and the collaborative efforts between Perana and Zagato. Though Perana’s production ceased, the Z-One remains a cherished rarity among automotive enthusiasts, embodying the spirit of performance and style that defined the partnership between Perana and Zagato.
